Setting up a proof of concept to run E-Business Suite on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is straightforward and done within hours. However, when running mission critical systems on OCI, things get more complicated: the migration must obviously be carried out in a limited downtime and later on, high availability requirements – even given full regional outages – often must be fulfilled as well. Development and testing instances must be provided on a regular (daily?) basis. Furthermore, the connectivity to on-premise data centers and users must be made steadily available. The session gives an overview of best practices when running Oracle E-Business Suite along with Fusion Middleware or external APEX Portals on OCI, especially covering means for running backups and clones at reasonable budgets.
