Priming the Cellular orchestra: Fine-Tuning MSCs for Clinical Success with MesenCure and BonoFill, with Cold Storage Playing Second Fiddle

Presenters
Tomer Bronshtein, PhD, VP Business Development, Bonus BioGroup, Israel
Oren Ben Yosef, PhD, Product Manager, Sartorius, Israel

MSCs have shown potential in treating various conditions involving uncontrolled inflammation, auto-immunity, and tissue injury. However, their broader clinical translation has been hindered by inconsistent performance, partly attributed to a lack of standardization and issues with culture and preservation methods.

Join this session to learn how Bonus BioGroup is tackling these issues with a unique approach. BonoFill, a tissue-engineered bone graft utilizing specialized mesenchymal and other autologous cells, has shown promise in Phase II clinical trials, aiding patients with complex bone defects to recover after years of disability. MesenCure, a professionalized allogeneic MSC therapy, has already demonstrated significant results in Covid-19 patients and is slated for further testing in other indications.

We will also explore how cold storage plays an important role in priming MSCS for clinical success. Hear from Sartorius on their new NutriStor® Cold Storage Solution, enabling storage and transport of clinically relevant cells at 2-8°C for short terms. Cells don’t need to be frozen and thawed when moving them coast-to-coast, or when waiting for crucial QC tests to approve your treatment.
Looking ahead, we should all look to advancing research and emerging technologies and fostering collaborations that emphasize the significance of interdisciplinary efforts in propelling this field.
