Human pluripotent stem cells (PSCs) and their derivatives hold great potential in regenerative cell therapies, and have already been tested in many clinical trials targeting various diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease and cardiovascular diseases.
However manufacturing of PSCs and their derivatives for clinical applications remains as a very challenging endeavor. Automated, closed, and GMP-compliant manufacturing solutions are demanded to reduce the cost, improve the process reproducibility and safety, and fulfill the regulatory requirements.
Miltenyi Biotec is dedicated to develop technologies to address these demands. The CliniMACS Prodigy® Adherent Cell Culture process and MACSQuant® Tyto® Cell Sorter, together with our GMP-compliant consumables, PSC culture reagents, and standardized flow cytometric quality control tools, provide automated and closed solutions for cultivation and sorting of PSCs and their derivatives, such as midbrain dopaminergic progenitor cells and cardiomyocytes.
