Patricia Rocco, MD, PhD, Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where she heads the Laboratory of Pulmonary Investigation. Elected Member of the National Academy of Medicine in Brazil and Brazilian Academy of Science. Prof. Rocco has authored and co-authored more than 450 peer-reviewed publications and 130 book chapters. She was the past Vice-President of International Society for Cell & Gene Therapy (ISCT) for the South and Central America regions (2019-2021) and Global Secretary of ISCT (2022-2025). Her research activities focus mainly on the development of new therapies for lung diseases. She has been working on clinical trials evaluating stem cell therapy in respiratory diseases. Prof. Rocco has more than 500 invited presentations.
