I am a Biomedical Engineer and Orthopedic Surgeon. My lab has been federally funded for the past 35 years, focusing on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. I stepped away from surgical practice in May 2024, to focus on research and translation.
Our work initially focused the harvest and isolation of human connective tissue progenitor cells (CTPs) and methods for concentration and selection of CTPs in the operating room for bone healing applications.
Our team involved into focus on late field of view imaging, image processing and automated isolation and characterization of clonal populations.
These capabilities have enabled a transition in focus to iPSC biology, and automated methods for, isolation and expansion iPSCs and iPS-derived cell products.
In addition to leading the Regenerative Medicine Laboratory at the Lerner Research Institute at Cleveland Clinic, am also a founder of Cell X Technologies, Inc, and serve as Chief Science Officer. www.CellXTechnologies.com
