Manoj Lalu is an Anesthesiologist, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at The Ottawa Hospital, University of Ottawa. He is also a Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute in the Clinical Epidemiology and Regenerative Medicine Programs. He holds the University of Ottawa Junior Clinical Research Chair in Innovative Translational Research and the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society Career Scientist Award. His current research is largely preclinical and translational, focusing on methods that could improve early clinical trials of novel therapies. He is currently leading an early phase clinical trial of MSC therapy to prevent perioperative cardiac complications. He has also led several well cited studies that have systematically appraised clinical and preclinical MSC and MSC EVs.
