Lou Bartolo DNP, MSN, RN Senior Regulatory Affairs Associate NMDP Chevy Chase, MD USA


Lou is a global leader in healthcare quality and regulatory affairs specifically stem cell transplant and cellular immunotherapy. He is the Senior Regulatory Affairs Associate at the National Marrow Donor Program/Be The Match a bone marrow registry for the United States. Lou is the President of the Oncology Nursing Society National Capital Chapter, Vice-President of Maryland Nurses Association (MNA) and Deputy Chair of the Legislative Committee for MNA. Lou’s leadership continues with his appointment to the American Nurses Association (ANA) Political Action Committee (PAC) Board of Trustee. He was co-founder of the American Association for Men in Nursing chapter at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.

 

Lou completed his Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Loyola University New Orleans. He received his Master of Science in Nursing from the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, Master of Science in Health Promotion from Northwestern State University of Louisiana, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans, LA. Lou is part of the Sigma Theta Tau, Phi Kappa Phi, and Beta Beta Beta Honor Societies. Most recently in May 2023, Lou was part of the inaugural class of Healing Politics Campaign School for Nurses and Midwives. Lou is considering running for an elected position in the State of Maryland.

 

The Johns Hopkins University has awarded Lou with the Outstanding Recent Graduate Award, Alumni Caring Ring, Robert G. Merrick Award for Leadership in Nursing, and the School of Nursing Shining Star Award.

 

Lou was nominated to the Johns Hopkins Nurses’ Alumni Association and the Johns Hopkins Alumni Council, the governing body of the Johns Hopkins University Alumni Association. He is a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership, Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies, Regulatory Affairs Professional Society, NAACP, Sierra Club, Rotary Club of Potomac-Bethesda, and continues his support of the National Student Nurses’ Association as a Sustaining Member.
