Dr. Samuel Campanelli Freitas Couto coordinates the Cellular Therapy Laboratory at Fundação Pró-Sangue - Hemocentro de São Paulo. With a strong commitment to advancing the field of cellular therapy, Dr. Couto plays a pivotal role in the Clinical Unit of Cellular Therapy at the Department of Hematology and Cellular Therapy, Hospital das Clínicas, Faculty of Medicine - University of São Paulo (USP). Additionally, Dr. Couto is involved in basic and translational research as a coordinator at the Laboratory of Medical Investigation in Pathogenesis and Targeted Therapy in Oncology-Immuno-Hematology (LIM31) at FMUSP.

Dr. Couto holds a doctoral degree in Biotechnology from the University of São Paulo and a specialization in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Butantan Institute. His educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a major in Molecular Biology and Genetics, as well as a teaching license from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas.

With expertise in cellular therapies and a focus on cutting-edge research, Dr. Couto has significantly contributed to the field. His research interests encompass the development of innovative cellular therapies for hematological disorders, aiming to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. He also contributes to the formation of graduate and post-graduate students.

With a keen interest in improving his knowledge of Cellular Therapy, Dr. Couto is currently working as a post-doctoral research collaborator at the Children’s National Cellular Therapy Laboratory in Washington, D.C.
