Julie Annis, MLS(ASCP)CM, is an accomplished professional who has been employed at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles since 2013. She holds the position of Manager of Laboratory Operations for the Cellular Therapy & Transplantation Laboratory (TCTL) at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. In her role, Julie oversees the processing of various Cellular Therapy products, including autologous and allogenic blood and marrow stem cell products, as well as cord blood products. Additionally, her laboratory is involved in processing clinical research-related Immune Effector Cells.

 

Julie is deeply committed to maintaining her laboratory's position at the forefront of cutting-edge research. She actively spearheads several significant programs, including Cell Therapy open protocols for CAR T-cells, Immunotherapy, and Alternative donor transplantation—haploidentical transplantation via TCRab/CD19 depletion. Moreover, Julie serves as a vital liaison and processing technician in the CHLA GMP Facility. This facility spans 1,500 square feet and comprises six rooms, including class 10,000 (ISO 7) rooms. Notably, the GMP Facility's recent accomplishments encompass the development of a process for producing Viral Specific T-Cells.

 

As a recognized expert in her field, Julie contributes her expertise as a member of the Consortium for Pediatric Cellular Immunotherapy. Her valuable insights and collaborative efforts have resulted in recent publications in the esteemed Cytotherapy Journal. Moreover, Julie is currently undergoing training to become a Foundation for Accreditation on Cellular Therapy (FACT) inspector for cellular therapy laboratories, highlighting her commitment to upholding rigorous standards within the field.
