HJ Ankersmit is Professor at the department of Thoracic Surgery (Medical University of Vienna). His scientific work extends over 30 years. After a post doc period at Columbia University (97-98) he established a working group at the Medical University of Vienna in 1999. His work pertains to regenerative medicine, applied immunology and outcome research (cumulative impact: >1500; H-factor 43). In 2008 he founded APOSCIENCE AG and completed in 2023 the first PBMC secretome based Phase I/II trial in diabetic foot ulcer. The platform technology for APOSEC production is patented by APOSCIENCE AG.
